Jody Voss is vice president, Strategic Business Services for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), a national federation of 36 independent, community-based and locally operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies. The Blue System is the nation's largest health insurer covering more than 106 million members – one-in-three of all Americans. It is the largest single processor of Medicare claims in the nation, and holds the world's largest privately underwritten health insurance contract – the 5.4 million-member Federal Employee Program (FEP).
Voss has overall responsibility for the development and implementation of business initiatives designed to increase healthcare affordability and quality, leveraging the collective strength of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies. She is also responsible for the Group Purchasing Organization, directing national strategic vendor partnerships across the Blue System.
In the area of program planning and development, which includes international business, Voss leveraged the collective strength of The Blues® to recapitalize an international business solution as a Blue asset. She oversaw development of Blue Health Intelligence (BHI), a national health information data warehouse containing health information on more than 50 million consumers insured by the Blues — the nation’s largest health information knowledge and analytical research capability. Currently, she is focused on the continued advancement of value-based care delivery initiatives across the Blue System and consumer engagement solutions.
Earlier career highlights include overseeing the Association’s care delivery innovation work and leading System-wide implementation of the BlueCard® program, including supporting Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies in all areas of operations, from marketing and claims administration to finance and provider contracting. Prior to joining BCBSA in 1993, Voss held various management positions during a 17-year tenure with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois.
She holds an MBA from Loyola University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois.
