Robert Kolodgy
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Bob Kolodgy is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), a national federation of 38 independent, community-based and locally operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies. The Blue System is the nation's largest health insurer covering 100 million people one-in-three of all Americans. It is the largest single processor of Medicare claims in the nation, and holds the world's largest privately underwritten health insurance contract – the 5.2 million-member Federal Employee Program (FEP).

As CFO, Kolodgy is responsible for all BCBSA Finance Division operations. He also oversees the National Employee Benefit Administration, which manages retirement plan assets for 27 participating Blue companies nationwide. In addition, he has administrative responsibility for BlueCross BlueShield Venture Partners, L.P., a corporate venture fund which invests in promising emerging companies of strategic relevance to Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies. He is also responsible for the Association’s Brand Protection division as well as the FEP.

Prior to joining BCBSA, Kolodgy held executive positions with ProMedica Health System, an integrated health system with more than 280 service sites and annual revenue of $1.5 billion. Kolodgy served as Senior Vice President of Operations and Finance for a ProMedica subsidiary, Paramount Health Care. He also served in various other corporate roles for ProMedica, including Chief Strategic Business Development Officer, Chief Materials Management Officer and Chief Construction Management and Real Estate Development Officer.

Prior to ProMedica, Kolodgy was a hospital Chief Financial Officer, Senior Manager in the consulting group of Deloitte & Touche and held several positions in manufacturing.

Among professional and civic affiliations, he is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He is a member of the Board of the Plan’s Investment Fund, Inc. He is a founding board member of Sewhope, a Toledo, Ohio-based non-profit group working to improve health in Guatemala, and former chairman of the Board of Trustees for Notre Dame Academy.

Kolodgy earned a bachelor’s degree from Miami University and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame, Magna Cum Laude.
