She has overall accountability for corporate strategy, brand management, marketing, business development, strategic government initiatives, senior markets, external affairs, communications, Web services, and education and training for BCBSA.
She oversees BCBSA's major strategic initiatives, including programs designed to increase healthcare quality, access and affordability, and is responsible for developing major growth strategies for Blue System inter-plan programs. Among recent programs, she provided strategic direction for the creation of Blue Distinction, a new national program to raise the level of healthcare quality, Blue Health Intelligence, the nation's premier health intelligence data resource with health information on more than 55 million consumers insured by the Blues, and Blue365, a new national Blue-branded program that supports Blue Plan consumer engagement and retail strategies.
Before assuming her current position, Sullivan was Vice President of BCBSA Strategic Consulting Services. In this role, she was responsible for developing new business opportunities for the Blue System, as well as providing a variety of consulting services – including market segment strategy development, research on industry best practices and business analysis of healthcare reforms.
Prior to her career at BCBSA, Sullivan worked on the evaluation of the Brookline Early Education Project, a collaborative program between the Brookline Public Schools and Children's Hospital to evaluate the impact of early educational and medical intervention on children's development. The Robert Wood Johnson and Carnegie Foundations funded the program.
She earned a master's degree in public policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. She also holds a bachelor's degree with honors from Albertus Magnus College. |
