The following Assessment and Special Reports were acted on at the February 12, 2013, Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association Medical Advisory Panel (MAP) teleconference:
Breast-Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI), Molecular Breast Imaging (MBI), or Scintimammography with Breast-Specific Gamma Camera
The MAP concluded that breast-specific gamma imaging (BSGI), molecular breast imaging (MBI), or scintimammography with breast-specific gamma camera does not meet the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association Technology Evaluation Center (TEC) criteria.
Special Report: Molecular Profiling of Cancers to Determine Treatment
The MAP voted that the draft TEC Special Report be approved, subject to any revisions recommended by the Medical Advisory Panel and editorial refinement by Staff.
