Who we are
BCBSA is a leading supplier of business strategy, technical support, healthcare services and consulting expertise for our members — the 39 independent Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies.
What we do
We are a Brand manager that sets quality control standards for the 39 independent companies that use the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Brands, and we serve as a trade association that represents these Blue companies. We provide national leadership for Blue companies with industry colleagues, government officials, the media and the public. When the individual Blue companies' priorities, business objectives and corporate culture conflict, it is our job to help them develop a united vision and strategy. The role of the Association also is to help link Blue companies with programs that permit each to benefit from the local strength of all member companies.
