Five Blue Cross And Blue Shield Companies Receive 2012 Brand Excellence Award

CHICAGO – The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) today recognized five Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies with a “Brand Excellence Award” for their commitment in developing and enhancing the overall image of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Brands during 2012.
“Today, 100 million Americans trust the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Brands with providing reliable, high quality healthcare coverage to them and their families,” said Scott P. Serota, BCBSA president and CEO. “We are proud to recognize those Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies that have exceeded member expectations and delivered exceptional service to the communities they serve. By constantly innovating and creating new ways to engage our members with products and services that they value, the Blues continue to grow and retain our membership.”
This marks the 18th year that BCBSA has presented Brand Excellence Awards to recognize Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies in categories that promote the Blue Brands including attracting new customers, fostering loyalty to existing customers, and Brand innovation.
The recipients of the 2012 Brand Excellence Awards are:
Brand Innovation – Achieving excellence in innovation that resulted in increased member satisfaction.
Enrollment Growth – Having the highest percentage of new members enrolled over the past year among the Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies.
Member Recommendation – Achieving a high percentage of members who are confident of the services and products they received and would recommend Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies to family and friends.
Member Retention – Having high member retention over the past year.
