Anthem Blue Cross And Blue Shield Encourages Kentuckians To Click, Give And Make A Difference On Kentucky Gives Day

April 22, 2013

LOUISVILLE – The first-ever Kentucky Gives Day will be held April 24, 24-hours of online giving to support nearly 400 not-for-profit organizations across the state.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is a presenting sponsor of Kentucky Gives.

"For 75 years, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has worked to improve the health of Kentucky communities," said Deb Moessner, president. "We are proud to be part of Kentucky Gives Day, and I'm confident that Kentuckians will take advantage of this giving opportunity to support the good work of nonprofit organizations across the Commonwealth."

At www.kygives.org, supporters can search by category for the organizations and causes they care about most. Then it's just a matter of click, donate and make a difference.

Kentucky Gives Day begins at midnight on April 24 and continues until 11:59 p.m. Kentuckians can go to www.kygives.org, connect with causes they care about and make tax-deductible donations via the secure website.

"Statewide giving days have proven successful in other states and we are grateful for the support of our sponsors to be able to bring this opportunity to Kentucky's nonprofits," said Danielle Clore, executive director of Kentucky Nonprofit Network, Inc. "Our goal is to raise as much money as possible for participating charities in one day -- really showcasing the power of philanthropy. We want to see what the Bluegrass State can do when charities and the Kentuckians they serve come together."
