April 21, 2014

LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield invites Arkansas families to celebrate Live Fearless Day at the Museum of Discovery on Saturday, May 3 and support a great cause. On May 3, visitors can make a monetary donation or bring a suggested donation (see items listed below) to benefit the Second Chance Ranch residents and get in to the museum for free!

Suggested donations (for boys and girls):

  • Toiletries
  • Cleaning supplies
  • School supplies
  • Arts and crafts supplies
  • New clothing items
  • Seasonal items

The Second Chance Ranch is a 501(c)3 nonprofit program that provides abused, neglected and at-risk youth a caring home while working to resolve crises in their lives and return them home or place them in a new home through adoption.

“At Arkansas Blue Cross, we want to celebrate how amazing youth and families are here in the Natural State,” said Karen Raley, vice president of Corporate Marketing.

“We want to invite families to explore the museum, learn about what makes their bodies work and how to keep them healthy in the Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield Amazing You Gallery and enjoy making memories together. Live Fearless Day also provides an opportunity to gather needed items to benefit residents of the Second Chance Ranch, so they, too, can Live Fearless.”

The event starts at noon on Saturday, May 3. Bring one item per family member from the suggested donations list or make a monetary donation at the Arkansas Blue Cross volunteer desk, then receive free admission to the Museum of Discovery. Families will get to the enjoy the museum and support a good cause — giving Arkansas kids a second chance.

BlueAnn Ewe, Arkansas Blue Cross’ health ambassador, will be on hand to take pictures with families and hand out healthy snacks. And, of course, guests may enjoy all of the museum attractions.
