Blue Cross Announces Three Officer Promotions

BIRMINGHAM – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama announces the promotion of Michael Patterson, Ashley Mosko and Michael Velezis.
Michael Patterson has been named Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. Patterson has been with Blue Cross for 28 years. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Patterson received his Juris Doctorate from the Birmingham School of Law in 1993. He was appointed and served as the State of Alabama Revenue Commissioner from March 2000 until August 2001.
Ashley Mosko has been named Vice President, Health Management. Mosko has been with Blue Cross for 26 years with various operational roles in the claims and Medicare Advantage areas. She completed her undergraduate studies in Business Administration at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Mosko is an alumna of the Momentum Women’s Leadership Program.
Michael Velezis has been named Vice President, Legal Services. Velezis has been with Blue Cross for five years. He is a graduate of Bentley University in Boston, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Velezis received his Juris Doctorate from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in 1995. He previously served as a partner with Wallace, Jordan, Ratliff & Brandt, LLC, Attorneys of Law, where he practiced for nine years.
