Blue Cross And Blue Shield Of Vermont Celebrates Emily Adams. 2013 Rising Star Recipient

October 30, 2013

BERLIN – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont Exchange Specialist Emily Adams, of Bennington, has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Vermont Business Magazine.  Adams is among a group of up-and-coming leaders who were selected by the magazine from a pool of 150 nominated young professionals.

Emily Adams joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont six months ago, helping Vermonters who have questions related to Vermont Health Connect.  In a relatively short time, she has demonstrated high potential and high value within the company and to the Vermonters she serves.

“On a daily basis, Emily ‘sees Vermonters through’ the transition to the Vermont Health Connect and is living our mission of providing outstanding experiences to the members whose lives we touch,” said Vice President of Strategic Planning Catherine Hamilton, PhD.

“On the front lines of an extraordinary change for Vermonters, Emily approaches her work positively, and is a good example of our BCBSVT mission in action.  She works long hours and always puts our customers first.  Not only is she an expert in the details of the impact of the Affordable Care Act; she explains the details clearly and with great empathy and compassion for the Vermonters she serves.  I am proud to call Emily my colleague.”

In addition to her exceptional work at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont, Adams has exhibited dedication to her community.  Her commitment to supporting others includes work with children of incarcerated parents, veterans and fundraising efforts with BROC, the Bennington and Rutland Opportunity Council.

Vermont Business Magazine announced the winners of its Rising Stars recognition award earlier this month.  The 40 winners, all under the age of 40, were selected by a panel of judges for their commitment to business growth, professional excellence and involvement in their communities.  There will be an event honoring Adams and her fellow young leaders at the Rising Stars dinner on November 7th. The dinner will be held at the DoubleTree hotel on Williston Road in South Burlington.
