Blue Cross And Blue Shield Of Alabama’s School Grant Program Awards Over $197,000 In Grants To Address Childhood Obesity

BIRMINGHAM – In our commitment to help prevent childhood obesity, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama’s school grant program is awarding $197,515 in grants to 22 schools statewide for the 2013-2014 school year. The grants are for the implementation of school-based health and wellness programs, emphasizing increased exercise, nutrition education and parental involvement during the school year.  Each school is receiving a grant up to $10,000.
