Blue Cross & Blue Shield Of Rhode Island To Offer Free Blood Pressure Screenings In March

March 1, 2012

PROVIDENCE – Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) is holding a series of free blood pressure screenings during the month of March.  All members of the public are invited to attend.

The events will take place on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, March 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Crossroads, 160 Broad Street, Providence.
  • Tuesday, March 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Dorcas Place, 220 Elmwood Avenue, Providence.
  • Wednesday, March 21, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Dorcas Place, 220 Elmwood Avenue, Providence.

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is one of the most common chronic conditions in adults.  Since uncontrolled high blood pressure can result in serious health problems such as heart attack or stroke, it is important to have it checked regularly.  Attendees of the BCBSRI screening events will learn how to easily check their blood pressure levels and find out what steps they can take to keep it under control.

Registration for the BCBSRI screening events is not required.
