HARRISBURG – In this season of giving and wishes for good health, Capital BlueCross is doing its part by announcing the opening of a 6,700-square-foot, one-of-a-kind health and wellness store in the Lehigh Valley called Capital Blue.
The company is holding a grand opening for Capital Blue at the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley in Center Valley on Dec. 15 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will precede the grand opening at 9:45 a.m., featuring a number of Lehigh Valley dignitaries, Chamber members, the Lehigh Valley Business Coalition on Health Care and representatives of area businesses. The store officially opens for business 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Dec. 17.
The day’s festivities will feature healthy food, live entertainment, raffles every half hour, holiday carolers, health screenings, face painting, balloon tying, and much more. All of the food and activities associated with the grand opening are free to the public.
Attendees of the grand opening can also tour the Capital Blue building throughout the day and meet the staff.
“We are excited for the public to stop by and check out the health and wellness services, insurance products, and convenient information on health that this unique store has to offer,” said Gary D. St. Hilaire, Capital BlueCross president & CEO. “We know that every individual has their own journey to good health and Capital Blue is the place for people to get started with personalized service.”
Capital Blue offers a healthy experience for everyone, regardless of their coverage. For instance, Capital BlueCross customers and non-customers can stop by the store to utilize the free wifi, take an exercise class, or attend a community event or health seminar. The store also has a Kids’ Zone, offering an interactive experience for children to explore the many ways they can stay fit and healthy. If a Capital BlueCross customer needs to check on the status of a claim, or review product options, the store’s friendly staff is always ready to accommodate. Most of the services offered at Capital Blue are free of charge, or low cost.
“Capital BlueCross has contributed so much not only to the physical well-being of the community but also to the economic vitality of the entire Lehigh Valley,” said Tony Iannelli, president & CEO of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. “We are happy to be a part of their retail store ribbon-cutting celebration on December 15, and look forward to the impact Capital Blue will have on the health of our residents and community.”
