Four Pennsylvania Businesses Honored By Capital BlueCross For Excellence In Worksite Wellness

Adams Electric Cooperative, ArtsQuest, Good Samaritan Health System and Hershey Entertainment & Resorts receive Worksite Wellness Awards

November 12, 2013

HARRISBURG – Capital BlueCross will honor four Pennsylvania businesses with awards for excellence in worksite wellness on Wednesday, Nov. 13, from 2-4 p.m. at its Capital Blue store at the Promenade Shops in the Saucon Valley.

The four 2013 Capital BlueCross Worksite Wellness Award recipients are: Hershey Entertainment & Resorts of Hershey, Pa. (major segment, first place); Good Samaritan Health System of Lebanon, Pa. (major segment, runner up); Adams Electric Cooperative, Inc. of Gettysburg, Pa. (large group); and ArtsQuest of Bethlehem, Pa. (small group). The recipients were selected based on innovativeness, creativity and implementation of programs that work to improve the health of their workforce.

Tracy Onorofsky, Capital BlueCross senior vice president of Commercial Group Sales, said that, although Capital BlueCross is recognizing four recipients, the company considers all the employers that participated in its Worksite Wellness program as winners because of their commitment to employee health and wellness.

“An employer’s workforce is its most important resource, and an employee’s health is his or her most important asset,” said Onorofsky. “A company that works to maintain a strong culture of health is a company that has a competitive edge and will have a bright future.”

Capital BlueCross holds its Worksite Wellness Awards program annually. A major eligibility requirement is that an employer completes the Health Enhancement Research Organization (HERO) Employee Health Management Best Practices Scorecard in collaboration with Mercer, a leading global provider of employer health management programming consulting. This assessment evaluates the effectiveness of employers’ Employee Health Management programs based on the extent they incorporate best practices, or effective methods for garnering positive health outcomes.
