Health Care Service Corporation Highlights Record Volunteerism And Support For Thousands Of Community Organizations

CHICAGO -- In 2015, Social Responsibility Report (SRR), released today:

  • More than 6,300 employees volunteered a record 107,450 hours in local communities throughout Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas, where HCSC operates, resulting in more than $284,000 in matching funds for 265 organizations – a new milestone for the company;
  • HCSC invested more than $13 million in nonprofit partners in its Healthy Kids, Healthy Families® initiative and other charitable programs. Healthy Kids, Healthy Families, which teams with nonprofit organizations focused on nutrition, physical activity, disease prevention and management, and supporting safe environments, reached more than 3.2 million children in 2015 and has provided more than 19 million health and wellness services to children and their families in Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas since 2011.
  • 10 percent of the company's electricity supply came from renewable sources such as wind or solar panels, Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
