    Independence Blue Cross Announces The Results Of Its Accountable Care Organization (ACO) Payment Model 

    Rewarding physicians and hospitals for collaborating to improve quality of care and lower costs is making a measureable difference in the Philadelphia region, according to initial results from Independence Blue Cross (Independence), a nationally recognized health insurer serving nearly 8.8 million people in 24 states and the District of Columbia, including 2.5 million in southeastern Pennsylvania. Independence's results demonstrate its success building interest and engagement in its Accountable Care Organization (ACO) payment model, which has been embraced by more than 90 percent of the health care delivery systems in the region.

    Anniversary Addition For The Horizon Foundation For New Jersey: 10 Years Of Giving + 1000th Grant = $10,000 Gift To Wheaton Arts And Cultural Center 

    The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey is celebrating ten years of supporting community organizations throughout the state by awarding one of its long-time grantees a special anniversary present: An extra $10,000 for general operating support. The gift recipient, the Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center, had just received separate Foundation approval of a $10,000 award for its Glasstown Collective Education Program. Since this marked The Foundation's 1000th grant, the center netted the bonus $10,000 gift. Representatives from The Foundation – the charitable arm of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey – presented ceremonial grant checks today to the Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center.

    Community Organizations Team Up To Connect Harrisburg Children, Families To Needed Health Care 

    Nearly 1,000 children and more than 6,700 adults in the city of Harrisburg are not receiving adequate health care or do not have health insurance. To address this gap in care and coverage, Capital BlueCross, Hamilton Health Center and PinnacleHealth today announced that they have partnered with Dauphin County on a program called Bridges to Care, which has already connected 20 people to much-needed health care.

    Phoenix’s Children’s Hospital and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona Pilot State’s First Childhood Obesity Clinic  

    The mental, physical and financial impact of childhood obesity is challenging American youth in every state.
