Tej P. Shah Joins Blue Cross And Blue Shield Of Louisiana As Senior Vice President

BATON ROUGE – Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana has appointed Tej P. Shah as Senior Vice President of Business Development. Shah joins the state’s largest health insurer after spending more than 13 years working as a management consultant in the healthcare industry.
In his most recent position, he worked for Oliver Wyman, an international management consulting firm that specializes in strategy, operations, risk management, organizational transformation and leadership development. As an associate partner, he created innovative partnerships among physician groups, hospital systems, vendors and payers to build value-based healthcare delivery models. Shah additionally has worked with providers and Blue and non-Blue health plans across the country in developing strategic and operating plans to grow membership while decreasing healthcare costs through partnerships, products, defined provider engagement approaches and consumer exchange strategies.

In his role at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, Shah’s responsibilities will include corporate strategy as well as business and partnership development. As a member of the Senior Management Team, he will provide strategic leadership in the development of corporate initiatives.

Originally from the Detroit area, Shah earned his MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business with an emphasis in corporate strategy and healthcare and his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Shah is married to Pansy Kapoor Shah and is the father of two children.
