Wise Named Medical Director At Blue Cross And Blue Shield Of Louisiana

BATON ROUGE – Dr. Rodney Wise, former medical director at Louisiana Medicaid, has been named medical director at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana.
Wise’s three-year tenure at Medicaid, where he oversaw the development of a managed care program, followed six years as maternity medical director of the Maternal Child Health Program of the Louisiana State Office of Public Health. For more than two decades prior to those posts, Wise served as an instructor, then professor in obstetrics and gynecology at the LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and the LSU Medical Center in Monroe.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches and an M.D. degree from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, where he later held a fellowship in medical genetics. He completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at LSU-affiliated hospitals in Shreveport.
