Tom Tran, Pharm. D
"Enhancing Statin Therapy Efficiency"
Tom Tran joined the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) in 2004 as the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Programs. In his current role, Dr. Tran is the Divisional Vice-President of Pharmacy Programs.
His responsibilities include overseeing BCBSTX's clinical pharmacy programs as well as the Pharmacy Operations for all of Health Care Services Corporation (HCSC) which is made up of BCBSTX, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma. Dr. Tran consults with employer groups on pharmacy benefit designs that provide the lowest net cost. Dr. Tran also partners with physicians to encourage medication compliance and generic prescribing.
Dr. Tran received a bachelor's degree in biology from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and a doctor of pharmacy degree from the University Of Houston College Of Pharmacy.
