John Frick, R.Ph., M.S., is Director, Pharmacy Initiatives, Office of Clinical Affairs, Technology Evaluation Center; at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, a national federation of 39 independent, community-based and locally operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies collectively providing healthcare coverage for nearly 102 million – one-in-three – Americans. He joined the program in September 2008, and has over 15 years of experience in managed care and retail pharmacy.

Frick was previously Director of Clinical Account Management for Innoviant, a Midwest-based pharmacy benefits administrator. From 1999 through 2005, he was also Pharmacy Services Director for First Health, a health benefit management company headquartered in Downers Grove, Illinois. Prior to that, he had several roles including Manager of Drug Utilization Evaluation and Pharmacy Services Manager for Rush Prudential Health Plan in Chicago.

Frick received his bachelor's degree in pharmacy practice from the University of Illinois College of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois Chicago Medical Center and his master's in health systems management from Rush University in Chicago.
