Scott Serota at White House featured on C-SPAN

Scott P. Serota, BCBSA president and CEO, participated in the White House Health Care Summit on March 5, 2009, which featured President Obama and other key Administration officials, Members of Congress, and representatives from major stakeholders, including insurers, providers, drug companies, employers and consumer groups.   

In his remarks, Serota made it clear that the Blues strongly embrace healthcare reform and want to work with all stakeholders to achieve meaningful solutions. He outlined the Blues’ support for comparative effectiveness research and chronic care management programs to address obesity, diabetes and other chronic conditions. Serota also emphasized the need to have an effective, individual mandate to make insurance rating reforms work and coverage affordable for everyone.
