How America’s Employers Are Promoting Health & Wellness Programs in the Workplace
On July 14, at 12:00 pm, EDT, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) released data from its Engaging Consumers @ Work report, which measures employee engagement in workplace wellness programs. Major employers including Food Lion and DTE Energy, and the National Business Group on Health discussed initiatives to improve employee health, while reducing healthcare costs.
One of the greatest challenges we face today is the growing prevalence of chronic illness which accounts for 75 percent of healthcare spending. To address this issue, employers are taking action -- pioneering programs to engage employees in healthy behaviors by making changes to workplace environments and offering workers incentives and support.
Blue Plans around the country are collaborating with employers in order to help them achieve their goals of a healthy workforce. We would like to invite you to join us for an important briefing to learn more about these efforts.
