America's Health Insurance Plans Selects BlueCross to Present at Medical Leadership Forum

CHATTANOOGA - America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) has selected BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee to make presentations on its Clinical Risk Management and Specialty Pharmacy Programs at the 2007 AHIP Medical Leadership Forum.

BlueCross' Daniel Barnett, M.D., J.D., senior medical director for medical risk management, and Michael White, Pharm. D., manager of pharmacy care management, will present at the Oct. 23 forum in Phoenix, Ariz. The forum, Evidence-based Solutions to Health Care's Challenges, is designed for nationally recognized leaders to share their practical ideas and realistic solutions for health care delivery, financing and management.

Dr. Barnett will present BlueCross' Clinical Risk Management Program, which ensures that quality of care issues and concerns identified in network physicians are reviewed, and where necessary, corrective action is taken. Through this process, the company is able to improve the safety of the care delivered to its members.

Dr. White will address the company's Specialty Pharmacy Management Program, which provides effective and evidence-based care to members in need of biotech-primarily injectable-medications. White will highlight the trust and transparency necessary to make the program a success.
