Lundquist Tapped As BlueCross Medical Director

CHATTANOOGA — Dr. Tom Lundquist recently joined BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee as vice president of performance measurement and improvement of health care services.
In this newly-created role, Lundquist will be the lead clinician focused on measuring and improving the performance of the health care delivery system for BlueCross members throughout Tennessee. He will work closely with medical informatics to analyze, evaluate and apply clinical metrics to assess performance and produce actionable information for improvement.

"His dedication is deeply consistent with our own transformational goals for Tennessee."
Before coming to BlueCross, Lundquist served as vice president and chief medical officer of Wexford Health Services. As leader of Wexford's clinical operations, he established a new medical leadership branch of the company and led efforts to establish new clinical quality expectations. He also introduced a statewide electronic health record in Mississippi.
Lundquist received his Bachelor of Science from Pennsylvania State University and his Doctorate of Medicine from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Lundquist is a fellow of the American College of Physician Executives and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He received the Catholic Charities of Pittsburgh Caritas Award in 2002.
