Deidra Jackson is vice president, Federal Employee Program product marketing and engagement, for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), a national federation of independent, community-based and locally operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) companies. Today, one in three Americans is covered by the Blue System.
Jackson, who is committed to finding solutions to the quadruple healthcare challenge of affordability, access, quality of care, and patient engagement and safety, provides strategic leadership for all current FEP member-facing products (Medical, Dental and Vision, Postal and Overseas). She works across the entire BCBS system along with strategic partners and internal resources to develop and implement a comprehensive product development and marketing strategy for FEP, the largest health plan in the world with more than 5 million members. Jackson also oversees development of new benefits and products essential to meeting membership needs, improving customer satisfaction and maintaining a comprehensive member engagement program.
With more than 20 years of experience in health care, ranging from product development and implementation to health plan operations and consumer experience, Jackson was most recently vice president of client success at Maven Clinic, a women’s health digital platform providing critical support across fertility, pregnancy, adoption and surrogacy and parenting and pediatrics in more than 175 countries for 15 million people. Previously, she served as chief product and client success officer at Hydrogen Health, a digital care platform focused on delivering high quality, affordable care. From 2003 through 2021, Jackson held increasingly senior roles in claims, product implementation and market solutions at Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), operating as Blue Cross of Illinois, Texas, New Mexico, Montana and Oklahoma.
Jackson received her Master of Science in health communication from Northwestern University and her Bachelor of Science in operations management and information systems from Northern Illinois University.
A passionate and devoted mentor, Jackson believes in developing future leaders, both within BCBSA and in the community. She also believes in the importance of work-life balance, which she achieves through travel, appreciation of both visual and performing arts, and spending time with family and friends.
