The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association is an association of 36 independent, locally operated Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield companies.
Nasir Khan is Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), a national federation of 36 independent, community-based and locally operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies. The Blue System is the nation's largest health insurer covering one-in-three of all Americans.
Khan joined BCBSA in 2001 and currently is responsible for all aspects of Information Technology services. In his role, he oversees the development and maintenance of BCBSA’s data platforms that facilitate efficient, real-time healthcare transactions and also provides leadership for the services that enable secure connectivity, data storage and analysis for the BCBS System.
Throughout his career, Khan has focused on IT, program management and strategic leadership. He has more than 15 years’ experience directing complex initiatives within the healthcare, pharmaceutical and banking industries.
Prior to joining BCBSA, Khan was a managing consultant for technology at the Canadian Imperial Bank (CIBC).
Khan holds an EMBA, Kellogg School of management, Master of Science in Chemistry and Bachelor of Science in Math and Biosciences.
