Ngan MacDonald is vice president, Enterprise Data Solutions for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), a national federation of 36 independent, community-based and locally operated Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBS) companies. The BCBS System is the nation’s largest health insurer, covering one-in-three of all Americans.
MacDonald oversees strategy and operations to meet the evolving data needs of BCBSA and the BCBS companies through the delivery of creative and innovative data, business applications and shared solutions. She has primary responsibility for Plan Connexion, business applications and data governance.
Prior to joining BCBSA, MacDonald was a senior principal at a healthcare data and analytics firm that specializes in management consulting and technology services. Prior to that, she spent eight years at Health Care Service Corporation, focusing on information solutions, strategy and analytics. She is also an adjunct faculty member at DePaul University.
MacDonald earned a master’s degree in information systems from DePaul University and a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Northwestern University.
