BlueCross BlueShield Fitness at Canalside Series Goes Virtual

-Community Will Have Access to a Variety of Free Exercise Class Options All Summer Long-

Buffalo, N.Y. – BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York’s beloved Fitness at Canalside series is going virtual for its sixth season, bringing a variety of free virtual exercise classes to individuals and families in the community— wherever they are. 

Beginning Monday, May 25, the area’s most recognized fitness coaches will kick off daily virtual classes, including, Yoga with Steve, Soma Cura Yoga, Zumba, Shannon Connors Fitness, La Movement Fitness, BikeOrBar, Graceful Warrior Yoga, Bridge to Fitness, Boxstar Training, and Sow Fit. Special classes will be announced throughout the summer including Soul Candy Project Yoga and Everyone can Dance.

“Visiting Canalside has become a favorite summer tradition for thousands of Western New Yorkers. Since we can’t be together physically at this time, we’re proud to bring Fitness at the Canalside to the homes of individuals and families in the community,” said Julie R. Snyder, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer. “As we continue to navigate new routines, it is really important to prioritize our mental and physical health and stay active while at home.”

“We are looking forward to still being able to offer BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York’s Fitness at Canalside series virtually until we can all be together enjoying Canalside again,” said Kevin Parkinson, Vice President of Be Our Guest LTD. 

Virtual fitness classes are free and open to individuals of all ages, regardless of fitness level or experience. Monday through Friday at 11 a.m., and Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., new fitness classes with be available through The Buffalo Waterfront website. All classes are filmed using social distancing protocols.

Join certified group fitness dynamo Shannon Connors and her team as they work you out in this full-body, high energy workout designed to work every muscle in your body: beginner to the most experienced fitness enthusiasts can enjoy this one.

La Movement

Join the Party! La’Movement Fitness is a place to get up, get active, and get moving. Offering high energy and vibrant dance fitness classes facilitated through a multi-cultural lens.

BikeOrBar

BikeOrBar HIIT Class is packed full of intense workout sets and full body movement that takes athletic interval training to the next level.

Graceful Warrior Yoga

Grace Warrior Yoga classes are designed to bring forth a unique experience filled with strength, power, grace, and clarity. Yoga and its unique ability to connect the body and mind is sure to bring about the positive results that we are all looking for in our daily lives.

Bridge to Fitness

Heart Pumping Body Weight Bootcamp is a 45-minute cardiovascular workout using just your body weight designed to be completed at home.

Boxstar Training 

Boxstar training utilizes non-combative boxing routines for people at any level, combining boxing and kickboxing workouts, fight conditioning, and resistance training.

Sow Fit- Kids Get Moving

Kid's Get Moving Creative Movement is a wonderful way for children to be confident and active. We encourage kids to lead healthy self-expressions that we are born with, to grow self-esteem, and establish an active and healthy lifestyle in all phases of our children's lives.
