BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Offers Medicare Information Sessions

Columbia, S.C. – BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is offering Medicare learning opportunities for those looking for information and clarity about Medicare plans, including the popular Medicare Supplement Plan F.

The free meetings are every Monday at the South Carolina BLUESM Retail Center locations in Greenville, Columbia and Mount Pleasant. The hour-long meetings are offered in the morning and afternoon at each location.

In addition, the company’s mobile retail center is on the road in several South Carolina cities. The mobile retail center is staffed with agents equipped to answer Medicare-related questions and register new members. The full schedule follows.

“The last time there was a change to the standardized Medigap plans was 2010,” said Terry Peace, BlueCross senior vice president. “They are changing again starting January 1, 2020. Medicare is confusing and there is more confusion now due to these changes. Additionally consumers are receiving inaccurate information about these changes. We are here to set the story straight.”

BlueCross offers Medicare Advantage, as well as 17 Medicare Supplement plans, including the popular Plan F. Plan F will continue to be available for consumers 65 and older and newly eligible for Medicare before Jan. 1, 2020. Anyone who enrolls in Plan F before Jan. 1, 2020, can keep the plan as long as they want.

People can sign up for a class by visiting www.scblueretailcenters.com/events.aspx or calling the retail centers directly. They can also speak with a representative at any of the stores anytime from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Retail locations are in Columbia at 1260 Bower Parkway; Greenville at 1025 Woodruff Road; and Mount Pleasant at 1795 Highway 17 North in Towne Centre Place.
