BCBSA Statement on Final 2027 Medicare Advantage and Part D Rate Announcement

WASHINGTON — David Merritt, BCBSA senior vice president of External Affairs, released the following statement in response to the release of the final CY2027 Medicare Advantage (MA) and Part D rate announcement by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS):

“Over 35 million Medicare beneficiaries choose MA because it delivers better value, better access to care, and better health outcomes than original Medicare—especially for seniors with complex health needs and limited incomes.

“Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies appreciate that CMS made several important changes from the advance notice, including increasing the MA growth rate, which will help protect the stability and affordability of the program for members.

“We will continue our constructive partnership with CMS because we have a shared commitment to building an MA program that improves health outcomes for members, ensures access to affordable plan options, and delivers real value to taxpayers."
