Blue Cross Blue Shield Association Strengthens Leadership with New Appointments to its Legal Team and Blue Cross and Blue Shield® Federal Employee Program®
WASHINGTON – The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) added leadership positions to its legal department and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield® Federal Employee Program® (FEP). Robin Sanders was recently promoted to vice president of litigation and risk at BCBSA, and Deidra Jackson joined as FEP’s vice president of product marketing and engagement, effective July 29.
“Robin’s promotion is a testament to her exceptional legal knowledge and contributions to the Association,” said Monica Auciello, BCBSA’s chief legal officer and executive vice president of External Affairs. “Her deep relationships across Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans and leadership in privacy, cybersecurity and other initiatives impacting the Blue System has helped maintain our reputation as one of most trusted brands in health care."
In this role, Sanders manages attorneys, compliance and audit professionals, with accountability for a broad risk-focused portfolio that includes legal counseling on litigation, cybersecurity, data use, privacy, and antitrust matters and oversight of BCBSA’s compliance, internal audit and anti-fraud programs.
Sanders was previously BCBSA’s chief privacy official and deputy general counsel for litigation and regulatory activities where she worked with executive leadership and business partners to provide strategic legal counsel across a range of subject matters.
She earned her Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and has a Bachelor of Music from the University of Miami.
Deidra Jackson joins FEP with over 20 years of health care, product development and operations experience, including 18 years serving in various leadership positions at Health Care Services Corporation, a BCBSA member plan.
"We are excited to have Deidra on our team,” said David Yoder, FEP’s senior vice president. “She brings a commitment to finding innovative solutions that expand our reach and bring higher-quality and more affordable care to the millions of federal employees and families we serve at home and abroad.”
In her role, Jackson provides strategic leadership for all current FEP member-facing products and future product expansion. She will also develop and support a comprehensive member engagement program, serving more than 5 million FEP members.
Jackson was most recently vice president of client success at Maven Clinic, a women’s digital health platform that provides critical fertility, pregnancy, adoption and surrogacy support for 15 million people. She also served as chief product and client success officer at Hydrogen Health, a digital care platform focused on delivering high quality, affordable care.
Jackson received her Master of Science in health communication from Northwestern University and her Bachelor of Science in operations management and information systems from Northern Illinois University.
