Lynn Merritt serves as BCBSA’s executive vice president and chief people experience officer, leading all aspects of human resources and people strategies; and as chief of staff to BCBSA’s president and CEO.
As chief people experience officer, Merritt advances a comprehensive people agenda that positions human capital initiatives as a strategic differentiator, supporting BCBSA’s mission and vision. She leads workforce capability evolution, organizational design, and the cultivation of a high-performance culture that elevates employee experience while delivering measurable business impact. Her portfolio spans enterprise talent strategy, leadership development, cultural innovation, and internal communications that align the workforce with BCBSA's strategic direction and prepare the organization for the future of work. As chief of staff, Merritt serves as strategic partner to the CEO, leading the Office of the CEO to drive cross-functional coordination and executive decision support. She ensures strategic priorities cascade effectively while maintaining operational rigor across complex, enterprise-scale transformation initiatives.
Merritt brings deep healthcare industry expertise from senior HR leadership roles at Lucent, Aetna, CIGNA and The Hartford. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Connecticut and an M.S. in Organizational Behavior from the University of Hartford.
