Monica Auciello is BCBSA’s executive vice president, legal and external affairs, and chief legal officer, with oversight for the governance, legal, compliance, privacy and anti-fraud teams. Monica also heads the external affairs organization, which includes policy and advocacy efforts to advance BCBSA’s legislative and regulatory agenda and strategic communications and marketing initiatives that protect and advance the Blues’ reputation and drive national messaging for the Blue System.
With more than 25 years of health insurance experience, Auciello has a deep understanding of health insurance laws, regulations and policy.
Prior to joining BCBSA, Auciello served as vice president, general counsel and chief compliance & risk officer of Sidecar Health Insurance Company and was senior vice president of legal affairs & policy and general counsel at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island and assistant general counsel and privacy officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont.
Auciello received her law degree from Vermont Law School and holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern Maine.
