Mouli Venkatesan is BCBSA’s chief information and technology officer, with oversight for the strategic direction and daily operations of the organization’s core IT infrastructure. He is responsible for advancing the modernization of digital platforms, and driving innovation through emerging technologies, data and analytics—delivering transformative solutions to improve operational efficiency and fuel the Blues’ long-term collective success.
With more than 20 years of experience in health care technology and enterprise technology leadership, Venkatesan has focused on aligning technology with strategic business goals, and more recently, using AI, data and analytics to advance and improve health outcomes, experience and value.
Venkatesan came to the Association from UnitedHealth Group, where his most recent leadership roles included serving as head of AI, data and analytics and as chief information officer for Optum Health and Financial Technology.
Venkatesan holds a degree in electronic engineering from India and an M.B.A. in health care from the University of St. Thomas.
