A Constantly Evolving Culture

We're proud of our company's rich history of innovation. As we adapt to the continuing evolution of health care in America, we encourage our employees to identify new and better ways of working. Together, we navigate an ever-changing industry for the satisfaction of our employees and the success of our unique BCBS system.

We’re proud that BCBSA was a recipient of the 2023 Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index Equality 100 Award: Leader in LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion.

Diversity: A Cornerstone of Our Success

BCBSA established its Diversity Council in 1999 to help create an environment that promotes inclusion, and its work continues to evolve. Our Diversity Council celebrates different cultures, languages, backgrounds and experiences, recognizing how diversity enriches and strengthens our company culture.

At BCBSA, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are the cornerstones of our success. We have seven Employee Resource Groups that help us support, represent and share diverse views that influence the culture of BCBSA.

Cultivating a diverse work environment isn’t an option, it’s a necessity to be a leader in our industry. We foster an inclusive workplace where employees are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work and share their diverse perspectives.

Supplier Diversity Program

BCBSA seeks to achieve its supplier diversity objectives through its supply chain network, which helps to bring consumer awareness, a competitive advantage and positive impact to the communities we serve. The BCBSA supplier diversity program promotes opportunities for diverse suppliers in the communities we serve. All companies must be at least 51% owned, controlled, operated and managed by U.S. citizens.

If your organization is interested in doing business with BCBSA, please complete the Supplier Diversity Registration Form. Certified Diverse Suppliers must submit a certification from an authorized third-party or regulatory agency. Uncertified suppliers that qualify as diverse should attest to self-certification in the registration form.
