Subtitle Winner will be chosen for his or her life-changing and innovative healthcare technology Chicago – The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) will present the Healthcare Breakthrough Award as part of the Not Impossible Awards show at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES® 2019) in January 2019. The Healthcare Breakthrough Award recognizes the ground-breaking technology created by individuals to improve the health, wellbeing and lives of others. Last year’s winner, Dr. Patrick Bordnick, developed a program that uses virtual reality to create a personalized treatment plan to help teach patients coping strategies for substance use disorders and other behavioral conditions. “The technology being developed in healthcare today has the absolute power to change and save lives,” said Scott Serota, president and CEO of BCBSA. “The Healthcare Breakthrough Award highlights outstanding innovators, bringing their brilliant ideas center stage and making dreams a reality for so many.
