Blue Cross Blue Shield Association Supports RSV Immunization for Newborns

WASHINGTON – Blue Cross Blue Shield Association Senior Vice President of Policy and Advocacy David Merritt issued the following statement today in support of the recommendation for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) immunizations for newborns made by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices:

“Timely immunizations are an important tool for protecting the health of both our communities and our kids, especially when they are at their most vulnerable. We strongly support effective public health efforts and look forward to working with parents, pediatricians and other care providers to ensure that all children have affordable access to the preventive care they need.”

The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association is an association of 35 independent, locally operated Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield companies.
