BlueCross BlueShield CEO to Speak at Prestigious Aspen Ideas Festival

Buffalo, N.Y. – BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York President and CEO David W. Anderson was invited to speak on the business of health care at the well-respected Aspen Ideas Festival  this weekend in Aspen, CO, the company announced today. 

Presented by the Aspen Institute, in partnership with The Atlantic magazine, the Aspen Ideas Festival is the nation’s premier public gathering place for leaders from around the globe and across many disciplines. Discussions focus on the ideas and issues that shape lives and challenge our times. 

Among a roster of notable speakers, Anderson will represent Western New York and the health care sector in a panel discussion, “The Business Case for Health: View from the C-Suite” on Friday, from 9:10 to 11:10 a.m. Mountain Time. 

“Healthy communities play an essential role in the success of all business sectors and ultimately our nation,” Anderson said. “I’m pleased to be part of a national dialogue that includes BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York’s role in building and supporting a healthy, vibrant community.” 

The panel will be moderated by Jennifer Tescher, president and CEO, Financial Health Network, and will include Thasunda Brown Duckett, CEO, Chase Consumer Banking, and Jamie Kalamarides, president, Prudential Group Insurance.

“As a community-based, not-for-profit health plan, and a member of the BlueCross BlueShield Association, I have the opportunity to share a wealth of data on the impact of health, and most importantly how we use it to succeed in Western New York,” Anderson added.
